Breath is the foundation for every activity – even the normal activities of everyday life. Your Yoga practice, and your own health, resilience and stress management will all benefit from time spent working on your breath.

Mum & Baby and Pregnancy Yoga

Mum & Baby Yoga

Delivered in 6-week blocks on Thursdays 11:30am – 12:30pm.

Mum and baby yoga offers mother and baby the opportunity to bond whilst enjoying the practice and benefits of yoga together.

Classes offer mums movements and practices to stretch out achy parts of the body that can get stiff and tired from holding, carrying and feeding baby, as well as practices to help the body recuperate and strengthen post birth.  The use of the breath is also weaved throughout the class to help you relax, restore and replenish.

Your baby will experience baby massage and baby yoga movements to help support their physical, emotional and mental development, whilst spending quality time with you that will support and nourish your mother baby bond. Many of the movements used in baby massage and baby yoga can help with common conditions such as wind, constipation and colic.

Classes are friendly and relaxed and are suitable for beginners or those with more experience of yoga.  I aim to create an atmosphere where mother and baby can do what they need to do on the day, babies sometimes need to feed, cry, cuddle, sleep, or have a nappy change and that is all welcome!

It is advised that you wait until 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 12 weeks after a Caesarean birth before coming along to class. Babies can attend from 6 weeks through to walking/around 12 months old.

Pregnancy Yoga

Bio: Shell has been practising handstands since 2017 with an invested interest as part of her acrobatics journey. She learned to balance first on another person, with the support of acrobatics training and yoga helping her alignment and core integration.  Solo balance came later on as she took more seriously learning to handstand on the floor. Shell is currently working on specific flexibility and consistency to improve her current handstand and enjoys a varied practice of drills and shapes to keep things fun and exciting. She believes that a light hearted approach is essential as the handstand journey isn’t always an easy one!
