What is kid’s yoga?

We have created our children’s yoga workshops with the health and wellbeing of the next generation in mind. Split into two age groups and taught by an expert instructor, these classes create a fun and engaging environment where children are encouraged to use their imagination, move their bodies and connect with themselves and their peers.

Little Lions

A class for children from Reception to Year 2

“A playful approach to movement and mindfulness taught in a light-hearted and accessible way”.

This 30 minute class taps into the spirit of play by combining story-telling, games and movement into a session that is fueled by imagination. Your child will develop concepts such as sharing and communication throughout each class, while starting to understand some of the key principles of Yoga – setting the foundations for excellent physical health and wellness later in life.

This workshop is held at room temperature. It is not a Hot Yoga practice.

Movement Monkeys

A class for children from Year 3 to Year 5

“An explorative and fun practice that connects movement with the breath through postures, games, visualisation and story telling.”

This class offers a fun and accessible approach to the early concepts of yoga, developing ideas such as gratitude and self-care as well as starting to explore some of the postures and breathwork. Your children will discover these concepts in a safe and light-hearted environment through the medium of story-telling and play, designed to peak the imagination and inspire physical movement.

This workshop is held at room temperature. It is not a Hot Yoga Practice.

Meet the instructor – Amy Price

Amy’s Yoga journey started seven years ago when she was living in Spain. When she moved back to the UK her personal practice inspired  her to undertake the 200-hour teacher training qualification and she has been hosting classes ever since. During her time in Spain Amy began working with children as an au pair and as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) instructor, where she developed a love for teaching. Amy currently balances her Yoga career with a role as a nanny, making her well-equipped to head up the Kid’s Yoga Workshop.

“I am excited to bring my two passions together in this exciting new workshop: nurturing the minds of children and sharing my knowledge of Yoga. The physical and mental components of this practice will be distilled into a series of fun and flexible classes that will instill positive habits and values into our kids, benefitting them for the rest of their lives. I feel strongly that the earlier we teach these techniques to our children in a fun and safe environment like Yogafurie, the happier and healthier they will be in the long run – both physically and mentally.”

– Amy, Yogafurie Instructor
