Ed, Hot Yoga and Yogafurie

why hot yogaI wanted to write a little about what how Hot Yoga – and of course Yogafurie – has impacted my life. Things have changed so much for me in less than ten years, and if I’m honest, I’m really looking forward to the next ten. If they’re anything like as exciting then I really won’t have time to get old…

Let me start by – really quickly – talking about how I got into Yoga and, more specifically, Hot Yoga. At school, I wanted to become a PE teacher. However, I was blessed with a family at a young age. When it came to Uni, I really thought it would be better to study IT and engineering. I thought I’d have more money that way – anyone that has a family knows that money is quite a pressure.

I enjoyed IT generally. It was technically interesting, and I met some great people. But my heart was never in it. I was interested in movement really, and this came out as a love of martial arts which I studied and taught. But then I took a very nasty knee injury in a Judo class. I could no longer practice: all I could do after that was swim and practise Yoga.

Our Family Based Classes at Yogafurie!

Read below for a breakdown of all our Family, Antenatal, Postnatal, Mum & Baby and Kids Yoga classes

At Yogafurie we are a hub of experienced teachers with a wide range of teaching skills. At the same time we’re a family business, so we know how much family means to everyone. That’s why we hold such a wide range of Pregnancy and Family based classes all year round to keep the family healthy. Just a side note, all these classes are held in a cool, normal temperature room!

Health is an important issue, not just for our grown ups, but for the little ones as well! Start them on the right track as soon as you can to help them reap the mental and physical benefits of a yoga practice. All the classes held are safe, practical and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Yogafurie new studio progress!

Yogafurie’s brand new studio is taking shape! Offering a dedicated Hot Yoga studio and a second studio for regular Yoga and Pilates, it will be the only facility of its kind in this part of the country. The Hot studio has the most advanced heating system currently available.

It’s in Bishopston, on Ashley Down Road, by the College – about half a mile from our last venue. The photos show our progress from taking the property just 4 weeks ago to the underfloor heating going down this weekend. We’ll be open in January, so tell your friends – this is the place to work out your New Year resolutions…

We have the go ahead!
